THE LONELY APPLE TREE by Joseph James © 11.27.22
There once was a beautiful apple tree that had grown up in the midst of an orchard. He had many friends growing up, but one day he started noticing that his friends weren't getting as close to him. He didn't know the reason why, and they didn't offer any, so he thought it was just him, his personality or something like that. Eventually, he came to believe that's who he was.
As he got older though, and bore a lot of fruit, he noticed that people would pick the apples of all the other trees except his. He began to believe that he must just be a bad tree and that no one wanted to be around him or eat his fruit. He got more lonely by the day and soon began to wish he was dead. Why go on living when no one really understood him and wanted to be around him.
Then one day, he saw a boy heading his way with some pruning shears. At first he thought that he was finally going to be cut down and put out of his misery, but something strange happened. The boy started cutting all around his frame, but he wasn't feeling any pain. Then the boy started pulling the pieces off of him that he had cut. To his amazement, he saw pieces of a very thorny vine all over the ground around him. The boy took all the pieces, piled them up and set them on fire. The vine burned fiercely in the heat and then it was all ash.
The boy looked at the tree with a smile. He was proud of his work. He grabbed his blanket and laid it out under the tree and then invited his girlfriend to join him under the tree. The boy picked some apples and they enjoyed the fruit. The boy told the girl, "This tree has the sweetest apples in the whole orchard, but no one was picking from it because they always got pricked by the thorns. They thought it was just the tree, but I saw the vine and new it wasn't. Now that the vine is gone, we can enjoy these delicious apples."
Friends, I say this to say this. Sometimes when we're growing up, there can be familiar spirits that attach themselves to us as we grow. Those evil things eventually convince us that they are us and that's just how we are, yet they are separate entities we can't always control. Some of those things that prick others, possibly in tone of voice, anger, gestures, etc. are from those spirits and sometimes we don't even know it's happening. Once we are able to see the difference, we can get inner healing, deliverance from the entity and be truly free. With that gone, people can see the real us and enjoy our company.
Oftentimes, when we are looking at others, perhaps it would be best if we give them the benefit of the doubt that they may be facing the same challenge unknowingly. It is for freedom that Christ has come to set us free.
((True Story - When we were in Yoncalla, OR in the late 90's, we were staying at an apple orchard. Janiece and I would go out almost daily to cut Blackberry vines out of the trees. Even with the gloves, the thorns would come through. It was difficult, but the apples were so delicious. JJ))

In order to do what the Lord is telling us to do, we are stepping back out there in spite of our circumstances, not sure where the road will lead, nor the things we will face. We've been traveling and ministering for the last 11+ years with only a storage in Boerne, TX, but have been in The Woodlands for the last 7 months, where I've been doing weekly shows here, (25), at the Hilton Homewood Suites.
